NARRATIVES

Never forget that justice is what love looks like in public.

WHAT ARE DBLAC NARRATIVES?

HOW CAN I SHARE MY NARRATIVE?

DBLAC narratives allow members to testify about their experiences, both personal and academic. They highlight the struggles and accomplishments of members, particularly related to their positions as Black graudate students. We share such stories not just to highlight our pain and hardship, but as a means to move beyond such trauma. DBLAC Narratives offer members a way into connecting with their distinct vantage points, and to connect with others in order to combat the isolation that arises from operating daily in systems that marginalize Black bodies.

We encourage members to share their stories, following the guidelines listed below. We also advise that members submit the below paperwork to ensure that their narratives are used in accordance to their wishes. Submissions can be sent to dblacorg@gmail.com .
